Between the Pain and the Promise

Living in the Heavy and the Holy

Every Christian faces the battle of living out his or her faith in the context of a broken world. I’m convinced that no one is exempt from this reality. The brokenness that sin has brought to our world can and does extend over all creation and can be felt as nations, communities, families and individuals, and I have personally wrestled with seasons of personal pain, grief, disappointment and discouragement and have prayerfully sought the Lord for mercy in troubled times. The answer I sought has been found in the grace of lament. The lament Psalms and the short five chapter book of Lamentations provide a Biblical blueprint for learning to lament, to worship in a minor key, to seek what’s holy while living in the heavy. This nine part series will be an invitation to come out from hiding your pain, draw upon the freedom to lament and allow the Lord to meet us in the heavy place with His holiness and hope.

As far as graphics, maybe a series long graphic can be made that reflects the title of 'Between the Pain and the Promise.' And then individual titles each week...could be the main graphic with just the weekly title added. I'll think more about it tonight and send any more ideas I think of.
